How many times have you heard the golf guru or commentator on the TV refer to a tour player as “a great ball striker”? How do the professionals get so much spin on the ball? How do they hit it so far and so high with their irons? Well the answer to this is simple they not only generate a huge amount of club head speed but they compress the golf ball at impact, most amateurs sweep the ball away relying purely on club head speed. If the proven formula to strike the ball correctly is club head speed + compression then most amateurs are trying to play golf with only half the tools required.

The majority of golfers at some time in their golfing life have tried traditional fault – fixing tuition and in most cases have seen little or no lasting improvement. Here at MGA we decided to look at different methods of teaching students to compress the golf ball and have developed a modular golf swing teaching system that is based on exercises which help the pupil develop a fundamentally sound golf technique and will produce the timeless and classic impact alignments that can be seen in all of the great ball strikers past and present - Hogan, Nicklaus, Woods etc.

Achieving these impact alignments will allow the golfer to make an efficient, powerful, repeatable and accurate golf swing which will let them play better and therefore more enjoyable golf. The method is suitable for beginners/novices through to expert golfers and anyone in-between. This teaching technique is not dissimilar in structure to the way martial arts are taught, in martial arts you are shown individual movements in isolation (basic kicks and punches) and then develop them into coordinated sequences. MGA know through countless hours spent giving lessons to all types of golfer, that the only true way to learn to move the golf club is by isolating and identifying key movements and then training them individually until all of the ‘pieces’ work together and ‘fit’ with each other to produce a rhythmic, dynamic and powerfully efficient golf swing motion.
